Yvette Eber

Reverend Yvette Marie Eber entered into covenant with CCOB to be their pastor and teacher in February of 2014.  Prior to that, she had served four years as an UCC pastor on the south side of Chicago, and eight years as Director of Christian Education for Northminister Presbyterian Church in Evanston, IL.  It was the influence of the people of Northminister that led her to hear God’s call to pastor.  She is a graduate of Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, IL with a Master of Arts in Christian Education and a Master’s in Divinity. She is an ordained UCC clergy person.  Prior to ministry Pastor Yvette was a high school and jr. high school health and history teacher for 12 years.

Pastor Yvette grew up in Lisle, IL the youngest of 8 children in a Roman Catholic family. She is an alum of Benet Academy in Lisle, IL, class of 1982 and graduated from Illinois State University in 1986 with a degree in Health Education and History.

Pastor Yvette is a passionate reader, enjoys the challenges of meditation and challenges herself to walk further and faster each year.  She enjoys all the emotions of life, but is fed by laughter and being with people.

Life is a journey of our very human selves in covenant with the divine and mystical God. Inside that journey, God calls us to discern our call and serve all of creation. Because we are part of God’s covenant with all the world, our hands, bodies and hearts belong to God’s service in the world. Let us serve God together in community with love, grace and compassion-never denying we are flawed humans serving a God so great that God humbled God’s self to become like us. Bring your individuality, your flaws and your strengths to come and serve God.
