Congregational Church of Batavia

Special Mission Offerings

Thanks to your generosity, The Congregational Church of Batavia UCC has been a “5 for 5” church supporting our denomination for many years. We support the UCC’s four annual special mission offerings and Our Church’s Wider Mission.

The Four Special Annual Mission Offerings:

OGHS focuses on humanitarian and development needs and carrying God’s message of love and hope to people in crisis. It provides clean water, food, education, health care, micro-lending, refugee resettlement and emergency disaster relief.

Strengthen the Church reflects our commitment to build up the Body of Christ through support for new churches, leadership development, youth ministry and new ministries in existing congregations.

The Christmas Fund provides direct support to clergy and lay staff facing financial difficulties. Many pastors and staff served smaller churches that were not able to provide adequate retirement funding. The Christmas Fund helps sustain them and their families.

NIN supports ministries of justice and compassion across the U.S. One-third of the funds support the Council for American Indian Ministry and its UCC churches. Two-thirds support justice initiatives and advocacy for immigration, health care, environmental concerns and voting rights.

AND - Supported from Our Outreach Budget:

OCWM provides funding for the Illinois Conference and the national setting of the UCC. It supports Local Church and

Justice and Witness ministries and provides resources for worship, Sunday School and ministry.

THE GENEROSITY OF OUR CONGREGATION MAKES OUR CHURCH 5 FOR 5.
