YAMs - Young Adult Ministry

The YAMs are open to anyone who is out of high school, into the twenty-something range. We’re not that picky about your age, as long as you are spudly. You don’t have to be a member of our church to join us, in fact, the more the merrier. Some of our YAMs are away at school during the year, so most of our activities happen during break times and over the summer.

We don’t really stress about your age, so if you’re in touch with your inner spud, come join us!

What Do Yams do?

YAMs meet for various outings and events, and mission experiences. We kick off the summer with a BBQ, help with summer children and youth ministries, serve at the Marklund softball games and the Northern Illinois Food Bank. Thanksgiving Day we have the Turkey Bowl football game. In December we gather for a Christmas Party. YAMs are the designers and presenters of the 11 PM Christmas Eve service. Also, we have some get-togethers throughout the year for lunches. Many YAMs have become Junior High Ministry Team volunteers year-round.
