Baptisms, Weddings, and Funerals

 Baptisms

Our congregation offers infant baptism, and we also have families in our church who believe that baptism is only for youth and adults who have decided for themselves to follow Jesus as Lord and Savior. Some families prefer to have a “service of dedication” for their baby, as a way of thanking God for the birth of their child and dedicating their child and themselves to God and Christ.

It’s inspiring to see families come to worship and celebrate a baptism—parents, Godparents, grandparents and great grandparents. It’s an important family event, and in the case of infants, baptism marks their reception into the Body of Christ.

To make arrangements for a baptism or dedication service, please contact our church’s office manager, Debbie Poole. Our Pastor is glad to meet with you and talk about the meaning of the service.

Weddings

Our lovely sanctuary is the site of weddings throughout the year. Some are the weddings of church members or their families, and some are the weddings of people who rent our facilities.

Our Pastor meets with the couple to plan the service, to talk about the meaning of a “Christian marriage,” and to help the couple assess the strengths of their relationship.

We also provide the services of a wedding coordinator who meets with the couple to plan the “logistics” of the wedding. The coordinator also attends the rehearsal and the wedding to assure that all goes well.

Weddings can be scheduled as soon as you have a date in mind, and are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.

For more information on our wedding policies and the fees involved, please contact Debbie Poole, our office manager.

Funerals/Memorial Services

We are glad to offer our sanctuary—and our pastoral care—to members and friends of our church who wish to have a funeral or memorial service for their loved one. We do our best to schedule the service at a time that the family desires. Our church staff have worked with all of the funeral homes in our area.

Frequently the family has a lunch or reception for friends and family following the service in Paxton Hall. People from our church host the lunch or reception as a ministry to the family.

To schedule a service or to obtain more information, please contact our church’s office manager, Debbie Poole.
