We are blessed!
"From Jesus' fullness we have all received, grace upon grace." John 1:16

It's been a tough year economically for a lot of people, but it's been a great year for the ministries of Christ in our church!

Outreach has been very active with Feed My Starving Children, Riverwoods Christian Center and Association for Individual Development;
YAMs (Young Adult Ministry) is going strong; Logos enrollment is on the rise; and
the number of people serving on our Ministry Teams is larger than ever.

And each of us has been blessed with God's salvation in Christ. Every day we receive "grace upon grace" in Christ our Savior.

To respond to God's grace and blessing, we give of our time, talents and money. Making a "pledge" for 2010 helps us make a budget for the coming year so that we can continue serving God together.

Just to "stay even" with 2009, we need to receive $456,000 in pledges and offerings in 2010. We urge you to give as generously as you have been blessed. "You can't give it if you don't have it," but if you "have it," we need you to give generously--even sacrificially--if we are going to meet our goals for 2010.

If every pledging unit (households and individuals) in our church - about 225 - makes a pledge for 2010, we'll reach our goal - and more! For 2009, pledges ranged from $500 to $20,000 for the year, and averaged $2,000.

If you are accustomed to giving to the Capital Campaign, would you consider directing some of those gifts to the Operating Budget? That would greatly help us reach our goal!

Please remember that your "pledge" is not a "bill." You may not be able to fulfill your pledge--or you may be able to give more to the Lord. No one tells you what to give; that is between you and the Lord. Your pledge is your gift to God.

Pledge cards are available at the entrance to the sanctuary and in Paxton Hall. You can pledge on-line at www.congregationalchurch.org/stewardship.

Stewardship Sunday is November 15. Please let us hear from you by then and help us keep "follow-up" to a minimum!

Thank you for your gifts to the ministries of Christ in our Church!
