We are an active faith community dedicated to glorifying God, learning and applying God’s word, and bringing the love of Christ to our World.
Empowered by Christ’s love, we seek to be a caring church open to everyone.
As Christ’s disciples we invite all to join us in bringing the love of Jesus to the world through worship, education, evangelism and service.
Mission Statement - Congregational Church of Batavia
As Moderator of our Congregation I often have the opportunity to reflect on the “big picture” of our church. As I reflect on our worship services and programs I can see how they fit into our mission statement and honor God. I witness how hard our staff works, and how many individuals spend countless hours engaged in ministries that really do bring the love of Christ to others. Every day I notice acts of caring, compassion, and friendship that are inspiring and heartwarming. I continually hear of wonderful ideas proposed to meet new needs, support our spiritual journeys, tweak our existing programs, and add new dimensions to worship.
The stewardship campaign collects financial pledges from the members and friends of our church for operating expenses in the following year. The pledges the church receives during a campaign are an integral part of how the budget is determined. This is different from a capital campaign which focuses on obtaining or improving buildings or assets. The “Fulfilling our Vision" capital campaign, started 3 years ago, will be wrapping up in December, 2009.
Please take some time to read the materials that are part of this year's stewardship campaign. They will help you understand how the various teams use the money they receive from the church budget and you'll read about some of those innovative ideas that I mentioned above.
Please also join me in supporting the stewardship campaign with a financial pledge as you are able. I am excited for our future, and proud to belong to our church family as we worship and work together as followers of Christ.
