Being the Hands and Feet of Jesus
In January 2010, we started a new theme: Being the Hands and Feet of Jesus! Many of our parishioners are serving God in important missions locally and all over the World. The outreach team heartily supports their efforts with our allocated dollars and our prayers
- We supported Allison S. who was in Kenya for three months working with children for Asia/African ministries. A $500 donation mailed donated books and art supplies to help the children discover the beauty of God’s world.
- Allison P. served God by working with Bethany Christian Services Adoption Agency. We collected infant clothing and items for birth Moms and donated $500 towards the administrative costs of coordinating domestic and international adoptions.
- Jennifer U. is serving at Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota, We donated 70 boxes of books to the children. The children were thrilled with their books!
- $500 was awarded to assist David M. in his evangelism efforts at the Jersey Shore this past summer with Campus Crusade for Christ.
- $500 to Haiti orphanage for purchasing diapers, infant supplies (funds given to North Carolina family traveling back/forth to Haiti to assist in the relief efforts)
- AID work project on Violet Street in Aurora was completed in May of 2010. A work crew spent approximately 15 hours working to remove the old aluminum siding and replace it with the new materials on one of the AID group homes which houses 5 AID clients. This effort saved AID approximately $3000 in labor costs.
